Dr. Raman Kumar is a renowned expert in Family Medicine and Primary Care in India. He is the Founder and Chairman Emeritus of the Academy of Family Physicians of India (AFPI) and has played a significant role in strengthening family medicine education, research, and healthcare policy in the country. His work primarily focuses on primary healthcare systems, family medicine academics, physician training, continuing professional development (CPD), and healthcare advocacy. Dr. Kumar is also actively involved in research capacity building and policy development aimed at improving accessible and community-based healthcare services across India. Apart from his leadership and academic contributions, he continues to practice as a full-time family medicine physician, bringing extensive clinical experience into healthcare education and policy initiatives. He is widely recognized for promoting the importance of comprehensive, patient-centered primary care and advancing the role of family physicians in the Indian healthcare ecosystem.
