Dr. Neil D Parikh earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine of New York University. Prior to that, he completed his undergraduate studies at The Johns Hopkins University, where he majored in Neuroscience and Economics. He completed his earlier education at The Loomis Chaffee School, graduating in 2001.

He also holds the position of Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology at Hartford Hospital since July 2023 and practices full-time with GI Alliance. Dr. Parikh is dedicated to medical education as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Connecticut, a role he has held since 2016. His extensive training includes a Gastroenterology Fellowship at Yale New Haven Hospital and both a Research Fellowship and Internal Medicine Residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital. Beyond his clinical and academic contributions, Dr. Parikh is the host of \"The Gut Doctor Podcast,\" where he shares insights on gastrointestinal health with a broad audience.
