Dr. Andreas C Petropoulos is a globally experienced fetal, pediatric, and congenital cardiologist with over two decades of leadership in clinical care, research, and medical education. He has held senior consultant roles at major institutions including Euroclinic Group in Athens since 2023, and REA Maternity Hospital since 2020, where he manages complex fetal and pediatric cardiology cases. Previously, he served as a fellow at Great Ormond Street Hospital (UK) for over six years, and has been Associate Professor at both “Aziz Aliyev” National Centre for Post‑Graduate & Continuing Medical Education and Azerbaijan Medical University, overseeing teaching and training in pediatrics, congenital cardiology, neonatology, infectious diseases, and more. Earlier in his career, he led pediatric cardiology and fetal diagnostic services at Merkezi Klinika, contributed to outpatient care in Azerbaijan’s rural populations, and collaborated with international medical bodies including ISAF and various European institutions. His breadth of experience spans clinical practice, academic instruction, running specialty departments, fetal echo‑echocardiography, and congenital cardiac diagnostics/interventions, making him a recognized expert in both patient care and clinician training.

Dr. Andreas C Petropoulos holds a robust and multidisciplinary academic background in medicine, public health, and aviation sciences. He earned his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the Aristotle University Medical School, alongside specialized training in Military Medicine from the Military Academy for Staff Officers (1983–1989). He further pursued a Master’s degree (MSc) in Preventive and Social Medicine from the prestigious National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2000–2002), equipping him with expertise in public health policy and community-based interventions. His interest in aviation and extreme environment medicine led him to complete advanced programs at the Primary School of Aviation Medicine in San Antonio, Texas (USA), and the School of Hyperbaric Medicine of the Hellenic Navy in Athens, both during 1993–1994. This diverse educational foundation supports his dynamic clinical, academic, and operational leadership in pediatrics and cardiology.
