Dr. Fernando Suparregui Dias is a highly experienced Brazilian physician specializing in Intensive Care Medicine. He graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of Santa Maria in 1977, followed by a Master's degree in Postgraduate Medicine from the Institute of Cardiology of Rio Grande do Sul in 1997, and a PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology from PUCRS in 2008. He holds a degree in intensive care medicine from the Brazilian Association of Intensive Care Medicine (AMIB).
Dr. Dias has held significant positions at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), including Head of the General ICU and Full Professor. He is currently the Coordinator of the Intensive Care Line and the Intensive Care Medicine Residency Program at Hospital Pompéia, Caxias do Sul.
His expertise spans circulatory shock and hemodynamic monitoring, sepsis, acute respiratory distress syndrome, multiple organ and system dysfunction, genetics, and critical illness. He has served as President of the Intensive Care Society of Rio Grande do Sul and the Brazilian Intensive Care Medicine Association. He was also elected to the board of the World Federation of Intensive Critical Care in 2019.
