About the Case Presentation

Diabetic neuropathy treatment focuses on managing symptoms and preventing further nerve damage.Medications such as antidepressants, anticonvulsants, and pain relievers are commonly prescribed to alleviate neuropathic pain. Controlling blood sugar levels through diet, exercise, and medication is essential in preventing or slowing the progression of diabetic neuropathy. Physical therapy can help improve muscle strength and coordination, as well as reduce pain and improve mobility. Topical treatments such as capsaicin cream or lidocaine patches may provide relief from localized neuropathic pain.Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) therapy may help reduce neuropathic pain by delivering small electrical impulses to affected areas. In severe cases, procedures such as nerve decompression surgery or spinal cord stimulation may be considered to alleviate symptoms.
