Previously, at the Hospital for Special Surgery, he led the implementation of enterprise information systems and pioneered digital pathology solutions. Kohli's contributions extend to Columbia University Medical Center, where he developed flexible information infrastructures for clinical research. Apart from his professional roles, Kohli actively engages in the healthcare community as a speaker and contributor to healthcare journals. He holds a master's degree in technology management from Columbia University and a bachelor's degree in computer science from India.
